Margaret frequently promoted Boys Over Flowers, featuring it on the cover of the magazine.[1] The series was also promoted on their website. A special page was created to promote the release of Hana Yori Dango FF in 2003.[2] In 2005, a website was launched for the release of the kanzenban edition. It featured a short video and downloadable wallpapers.[3] An app was launched in 2016 to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of Kamio's debut. Users are able to read Boys Over Flowers and her other series for free.[4]

Boys Over Flowers is frequently available to read for free on various manga apps. In 2014, Boys Over Flowers was available to read for free on the Margaret Book Store app for a limited time.[5] To celebrate the publication of the sequel's first volume, Boys Over Flowers was free to read on au's Book Pass app.[6] It was later added to au's Smart Pass, allowing readers to read one chapter per day for free.[7] In June 2022, Boys Over Flowers became available on Langaku, an app that helps Japanese readers learn English.[8]

The exhibit, celebrating the anniversary of Margaret, was originally titled Margaret 50th Anniversary Exhibition during 2013.[9] It was retitled to My Margaret the following year.[10] The exhibit toured Japan until 2016.[11] Boys Over Flowers was one of the series featured in the exhibit. It was also featured in merchandise and café collaborations.

Girls' Manga Graffiti[]

A small exhibit, titled Girls' Manga Graffiti, was set up at Shueisha Gallery in Chiyoda, Tokyo during March 2019. It featured art work from many shojo series published by Shueisha, including Boys Over Flowers.[12]

Making of Yoko Kamio's World[]

On November 7, 2021, Kamio gave her first lecture at Musashino Place in Musashino, Tokyo.[13] Fifty people were admitted with another one hundred admitted to listen online.[14] It was later transcribed and released as a PDF document.[15]

Jewelry Box Exhibition[]

To celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of Boys Over Flowers, an exhibit was announced in early 2023.[16] It was first held in Tokyo from April 19 to May 8, 2023.[17] The exhibit will also be held in Osaka, Shizuoka, Fukuoka, and Hyogo.[18]

On November 4, 2015, a set of stickers was released on Line to commemorate the publication of volume two of Boys Over Flowers Season 2. There are forty stickers total, featuring characters from Boys Over Flowers and its sequel series. The cost is 120 yen or 50 coins in its in-app currency.[19] As of May 2023, the stickers remain available for purchase.[20]

Biore's (ビオレ () ) initial collaboration with Boys Over Flowers began in January 2016. On their website, users could play a quiz. They would enter their name, pick their favorite of the F4, and then their mood. A short message from said F4 member would appear along with a recommended Biore product.[21][22] A second round of the collaboration started that summer.[23] Yoko Kamio reworked old illustrations of Tsukushi Makino and the F4 for the campaign.[24] Biore promoted the collaboration with advertisements in the Tokyo subway system.[25][26]

Morinaga & Company[]

Boys Over Flowers on Morinaga's website

In October 2020, Morinaga & Company used Boys Over Flowers characters to promote their product, wheat germ crackers (小麦胚芽のクラッカー () ).[27] Their website included new images of Tsukushi and the F4 by Kamio, and recipes inspired by scenes from the manga and supervised by dietician Yukari Igarashi (五十嵐ゆかり () ).[28][29]

On April 8, 2022, Line Bubble 2 (LINE バブル2 () ), a puzzle bubble shooting game, teased the collaboration.[30] The Boys Over Flowers event officially began in the app on April 11.[31] It went on until May 8. Players could meet Tsukushi, the F4, Tsubaki Domyoji, and Shigeru Okawahara through various mini-games. There was also a chance for players to collect them as "buddy" characters.[32][33] In Taiwan, the collaboration was titled "Meteor Garden x Line Bubble 2."[34]

Line Pokopoko[]

A collaboration between Line Pokopoko (LINE ポコポコ () ), a match three mobile game, and Boys Over Flowers was teased on October 27, 2022.[35] The collaboration started the following day and continued to November 18. Tsukushi and the F4 were featured as companions for players to obtain. In game characters were also dressed in the style of the F4 for a limited time.[36]

Margaret & Bessatsu Margaret 60th Anniversary[]

Margaret and Bessatsu Margaret celebrated their sixtieth anniversary (マーガレット&別冊マーガレット60周年記念) in early 2023. A website was launched to promote various activities for the anniversary, such as a Twitter campaign and sales on eBooks.[37] The April 2023 issue of Margaret was treated as a commemorative issue. It hosted a campaign for readers to enter for a chance to win signed illustrations by Kamio and other artists. Furthermore, Boys Over Flowers was featured on the issue's furoku, a set of stickers.[38] The same month, Kamio was interviewed by Shueisha Online as a part of the project.[39]

In February 2024, Margaret collaborated with Gashapon to release six of their titles, including Boys Over Flowers, as miniature books. They are purchased through vending machines.[40] The cost is 500 yen.[41]

Foxey collaboration

The fashion brand, Foxey, released a capsule collection inspired by Boys Over Flowers on September 22, 2023.[42] Kamio contributed illustrations of her characters wearing the fashions. Her illustration of Tsukasa was featured on the cover of a special edition of Spur with actress Mitsuki Takahata.[43][44] Foxey will open a pop-up store for the collaboration at The Stage #2 on the second floor of Isetan Shinjuku from September 27 to October 3.[45]

In 2018, Kamio was interviewed by Men's Non-no with the stars of Hana Nochi Hare. She also drew several illustrations for the magazine.[46] Da Vinci interviewed her in 2023 about Boys Over Flowers and the exhibit.[47]
