Boys Over Flowers is a shojo manga created by Yoko Kamio. Shueisha published the series in their magazine Margaret from March 1992 to August 2003,[1][2] collecting the series into thirty-six volumes. Viz Media bought the licensing rights to manga in 2003 for North America.[3] The manga was reprinted in Japan into kanzenban format throughout 2005 and 2006.[1] Kamio has written two prequel stories to the series, including "Story of an Encounter" and "Night of the Crescent Moon."[1] She was commissioned to write a sequel story in July 2006, followed by two-part story in early 2008.[4] These three stories were published as volume thirty-seven on June 25, 2008.[5]
On February 15, 2015, Kamio began a sequel, titled Boys Over Flowers Season 2. The series was released online on Shonen Jump+ and Viz published the chapters simultaneously in English.[6] It was collected into fifteen volumes in March 2020.[7] In December 2016, Kamio began a webcomic, titled Cafe de Hanadan, which is a series of short side stories of Boys Over Flowers. She publishes it sporadically on the Hana Yori Dango app.[8] Kamio also penned a special chapter for Margaret's 2000th issue in 2018.[9]

Five chapters of Cafe de Hanadan have been collected into volume "37.5"
- "The Bored Prince:" an extra chapter included in the fan book Hana Yori Dango FF, which was published in October 2003. It was later included in volume fifteen of the series' complete edition.
- Cafe de Hanadan: a web comic that serves as a spin-off of Boys Over Flowers. The first chapter was released on the Hana Yori Dango app in December 2016.[85] Kamio continues to publish it sporadically.

Boys Over Flowers has been published in at least seventeen countries.[87] This includes the United States, Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, France, and Italy. Both the original edition of Boys Over Flowers and the kanzenban edition have been reproduced in many of these countries.
Shueisha Remix[]

In 2001, Boys Over Flowers was included in the convenience-store exclusive line, Shueisha Girls Remix.[88] Eleven volumes were produced until 2003. Another seven volumes were published with the "Special Wide" label from 2005 to 2008.
Kanzenban[]

Kanzenban box set
Starting in 2005, Boys Over Flowers was published into a twenty-volume kanzenban edition, which is also referred to as the "complete" or "perfect" edition.[1] The edition was also published in a box set on June 20, 2008.[89]
